A Sri Lankan Feast in the North East: Curry Buffet at Cammies

Have you ever wanted to experience the bold, vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka—without leaving Scotland? Now you can, right here in the heart of the North East.

Every last Thursday of the month from 5pm onwards, Cammies invites you to its much-loved Sri Lankan Curry Buffet—an unforgettable culinary celebration you won’t find anywhere else in the region. In fact, Cammies is the only restaurant in North East Scotland offering an authentic Sri Lankan dining experience, and it’s not to be missed.

This monthly feast is the brainchild of Chef and owner Nalin, a passionate 69-year-old visionary whose cooking is deeply rooted in the traditions of his homeland. With decades of culinary wisdom and a genuine love for sharing Sri Lankan culture, Nalin brings every dish to life using premium Ceylon ingredients and the kind of spice mastery only a true Sri Lankan can offer.

The buffet features six different curries, each bursting with unique flavours—from spicy and aromatic to creamy and comforting. You’ll also enjoy a range of classic accompaniments like:

  • Rice

  • Kottu (a chopped roti stir-fry dish)

  • Appam (hoppers – soft, bowl-shaped pancakes)

  • Sri Lankan-style Roti

It’s more than a meal—it’s a Sri Lankan food festival, a celebration of colour, taste, and tradition.

For just £25 per person, you get a two-course meal that promises to surprise and satisfy, whether you're trying Sri Lankan cuisine for the first time or reliving your favourite flavours from a past adventure.

So why not mark your calendar and join us on the last Thursday of each month? Bring your friends, your appetite, and your curiosity—Cammies is ready to serve you another ultimate dining experience.
